Sialadenitis can occur as a result of decreased saliva flow or inflammation or blockage of the salivary duct. Treatment for Sialadenitis comprises of antibiotics and rarely surgery. A bacterial infection is the most common cause of sialadenitis, especially the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
