Blood in stool is not a direct symptom of Irritable bowel syndrome, but few patients may experience blood in stool due to associated symptom of constipation. Due to constipation, the stool becomes hard and dried since the water gets soaked up by the intestine as the stool remains in the intestines for a long time. Now, when you push the stool out of your rectum, it can cause a tear in the tissue lining. This injured tissue lining if not healed immediately may give growth to a small fissure which can cause bleeding.
