Women suffer from these canker sores that are mostly caused due to a virus, more frequently as compared to men and oftentimes they run in families

Cause of the canker sores can be deficiency of vitamins, celiac disease, hormonal shifts, food allergy, emotional stress, lower immune system, or any mouth injury. These sores are of white or yellow color with red surrounding area and may take one to three weeks to be healed. Usually the condition is healed without any medication, but taking treatment helps reducing the discomfort.

Home Remedies to Treat Canker Sores:

Applying a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide followed by the application of milk of magnesia helps in healing the canker sores. Swishing the mixture of liquid Benadryl and milk of magnesia in your mouth for a minute and then spitting the mixture out helps in relieving the pain.

These tongue blisters are very common and are experienced by most of the people sooner or later. These are usually very small approximately of the size less than 1/3rd of one inch diameter and occur on inner surface of cheeks, on the gums or below the tongue in case they don’t appear on tongue itself.

If canker sores in mouth get infected, it leads to some additional problems like swelling of lymph nodes. So, in order to prevent this infection from growing worse, treatment should be taken at the earliest.

You are advised to consider your doctor when you observe the following symptoms while canker sores occur:

    • Pain in your joints
    • Severe fever

Oral Thrush symptoms can include:

    • Reduced or bad sense of taste
    • Fungus patches which are white and look cheesy.

Generally antifungal treatments are prescribed for candidiasis by physicians. It may be in the form of mouth rinses or lozenges if the condition is mild and tablets in case of severe conditions. Doctors are very careful while giving treatment for each fungus infection as sometimes people develops immunity against the given treatment.

This disease generally starts with very tiny blisters in the mouth and tongue and causes fever after one to two days. Rashes can be seen on hands and feet as well. Also being incapable to consume water because of the pain, results in dehydration.

The mouth or tongue blisters may ulcerate and can appear with or without rashes on the skin. This disease can be caused by various viruses. The main objective of the treatment is to decrease the pain with sprays to make the area numb, mouthwashes and pain relievers.

  4. Stomatitis

Stomatitis is a viral infection because of which blisters occur in mouth and also on tongue which further ulcerates. Mainly children get affected from this condition. Pain caused by blisters not only makes it difficult to eat food but drooling and swallowing also become very difficult. Fever might be noticed up to 104° F within one or two weeks prior to forming of blisters. Antiviral medications are used for the treatment of infection, which helps in reducing pain keeping the child hydrated when he/she is sick.

  5. Mucocele

These are small wounds like blisters or bumps which are often found to be developed on the lower side of tongue. Mucoceles occur because of the damage of the tube which carries saliva from salivary gland to the mouth; because of this instead of going into the mouth saliva goes into tissues which later create blisters.

These mucoceles usually break after growing, shrink and again grow and they are very tough to be eradicated but they do not cause any permanent damage. The gland and saliva which is in the tissues can be removed by a small surgery.

  6. Injuries on Your Tongue

These can sometimes result in very painful ulcers which take some time to heal. Unless the infection is developed because of them, there won’t be any major issue.

It is better to avoid some foods which create some problem damaging a sensitive tongue with injuries like cuts or burns.

You should maintain proper oral hygiene of your mouth and tongue. Use mouth rinse or warm salt water for promoting the process of healing and protecting natural bacteria balance in the mouth.
