In case if a fungal infection is the cause of Smelly Hair, you can mix lemon juice with a cup of yogurt and apply it to the hair. Leave it for about half-an- hour and then wash the hair, doing this once a week is enough to get rid of Smelly Hair due to fungal infection. It should be noted here that prolonged use of lemon juice on the hair will lighten up the hair with time.
Baking Soda: This is yet another effective and common home remedy to get rid of Smelly Hair. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda in three cups of water to make a paste of it. Now, wet the hair thoroughly and put the paste of baking soda and water on it. Let it stay there for about 10 minutes and then wash the hair. Do this for one week and you will get rid of Smelly Hair.
Apple Cider Vinegar: This is a home remedy for many ailments and can be effective in getting rid of smelly hair as well. Apple Cider Vinegar clears the hair off of any dirt or dust and clears any pollutant that may be causing Smelly Hair. All you need to do is mix half a cup of Apple Cider Vinegar with two cups of water, then put about three drops of lavender oil in it. Spray this throughout your hair and allow it to be there for a few minutes and then wash the hair. Do this about once a week and you will get rid of Smelly Hair.
Tea Tree Oil: This again is used in the treatment of various ailments and can be useful home remedy in getting rid of dandruff as well. Take some tea tree oil and mix it with water and apply it on the scalp. Leave the oil there for about half-an-hour and then wash the hair with a shampoo. You can do this once a week to get rid of Smelly Hair.
Tomato Juice: This is also an effective home remedy to get rid of Smelly Hair. All you need to do is put some fresh tomato juice on the hair and leave it for about 20 minutes and then wash the hair. It will not only give a fresh glow to the hair, but will also get rid of Smelly Hair. Do this about twice a week for best results.
Lavender Oil: Lavender oil along with baking soda and Apple cider vinegar is quite useful in getting rid of Smelly Hair, but it can also be used solely for this purpose. All you need to do is after shampooing the hair you need to apply about 10 drops of this oil on the scalp.
