It is not known yet whether hytrin or terazosin is passed to the baby during the period of breastfeeding or not, that is why it is important to inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding even before using hytrin.

You should take hytrin or terazosin according to the doctor’s prescription. Be careful not to take smaller or larger amounts or even for a long time than the doctor’s recommendation. Make sure to follow the instructions on the prescription label. The doctor is likely to change your dosage for your own benefit.

What are the Side Effects of Hytrin?

You should get immediate medication if you experience any of the following allergic reactions after using hytrin or terazosin; difficulties breathing, hives and swelling of your lips, face, throat or tongue. It is also important to inform your doctor you experience the following side effects:

  • Pounding or fast heartbeats
  • Any fluttering in the chest
  • Swelling of your feet ankles or hands
  • Feeling to pass out
  • Pain during penis erection lasting for 4hrs or longer.

The following are less serious side effects caused by hytrin:

  • Headache, nausea, blurred vision
  • Mild dizziness and weakness or drowsiness.
