Can You Get Pregnant Without Sex?

Getting pregnant without having penetrative sex is really a surprise, but it is true.

You can get pregnant without penetration. Any activity that introduces sperms into the vagina can make pregnancy possible.

What Causes Pregnancy?

For pregnancy to occur, a sperm from a male should fertilize with one egg in the fallopian tube of the females.

Once the egg is fertilized it travels from the fallopian tube to the lining of the uterus.

When the penetration of the penis in the vagina occurs, it delivers the sperms closest to the cervix. An egg is fertilized when it is released from the vagina that happens once in a month (14 days before the menstrual cycle).

During the time of ovulation, the cervical mucus gets thin like egg-white. This allows the sperms to swim more freely. It flows through the vaginal canal to the opening of the vagina.

Sperms if introduced in or around the vagina can easily make their way to the eggs.

Does Pre-Ejaculation Fluid Contain Sperms?

If the ejaculate or the pre-ejaculate fluid comes in contact with the vaginal area, there are though less, but the possibility to get pregnant. The ejaculate and the pre-ejaculate fluid can come in contact with the vagina through toys, mouth, and even fingers.

What Is Splash Pregnancy?

If the conception occurs (accidentally or incidentally) due to semen reaching the outer vaginal area, it is known as splash pregnancy.

It is a good option for those couples who cannot have sex. It is a possible way for them to get pregnant without intercourse, by getting the man ejaculate close to the vagina.

As some semen makes it way to the vulva or the vaginal area, there are chances of getting pregnant. Ejaculation inside the vagina increases the chances.

Studies show this method can be adopted by the females suffering from vaginismus, to have a child.(3)

Though the chances are very low, this method can be adopted.
