While plantar warts can occur anywhere on the body, they are most common on the soles of your feet (3). A study done by the Arizona State University in 2006 found that the anti-infective or antimicrobial properties of apple cider vinegar can help in reducing the growth of plantar warts. However, more research is still needed to support this claim (5).

However, it is still believed that tea tree oil should also work for removing or reducing plantar warts.

Salicylic acid is a form of beta hydroxy acid, which is typically used in the treatment of acne. Salicylic acid works by removing dead skin cells, which often clog the pores, causing plantar warts and other skin infections to occur.

Over-the-counter (OTC) wart creams and ointments have been observed to contain a high concentration of salicylic acid. These creams and ointments also work by shedding the skin around the plantar wart slowly over a period of time, eventually clearing up the area completely.

If you want to efficiently use salicylic acid for treating plantar warts, you will need to apply the product containing salicylic acid on warts two times every day. It will also help if you prepare the skin by soaking the affected part in lukewarm water for at least 10 minutes every day before applying the acid. This will allow the acid to work more effectively in getting rid of plantar warts naturally.

It is possible to buy both these products from any local drug store.

However, doctors and researchers still are of the opinion that this iodine treatment works best when done under the supervision of a doctor, especially if you already have an underlying health condition like thyroid disease.

If you want to use freezing sprays for removing plantar warts, then spray the product directly onto the plantar wart for 20 seconds. You can repeat the procedure if required. You will notice the formation of the blister. The blister will fall off on its own within a week or two. In most cases, the wart also goes away with the blister. However, if you notice that the wart is still there, then you can consider repeating the treatment once again.
