Blood Pressure Check-Up

The doctor will conduct a physical examination and examine your blood pressure. Blood pressure is always evaluated when you pay a visit to your doctor. Checking the blood pressure on yearly basis will set the baseline for men and women. Patients suffering from kidney or heart diseases or suffered a stroke recently will be asked to lower their blood pressure level to prevent serious consequences later. Patients are likely to have higher blood pressure level as their get older because as they age, their blood vessels become stiffer and the pressure of blood increases. High blood pressure increases the chance of stroke, heart failure, heart attack, kidney diseases and even early death.

Colon and Rectum Screening

Colorectal cancer is a medical condition that usually develops from abnormal growths of precancerous polyps in rectum or colon. This screening test is done with the help of colonoscopy and it is also possible to remove the precancerous polyps without much invasion. Hernia and Testicular Cancer Check

Men below 40 years must have their testicular examination done to rule out the possibility of testicular cancer. Besides paying visit to your doctor regularly, you must also maintain a healthy weight and perform regular physical exercises. The best way to find if you are overweight or obese is by undergoing an obesity test which will measure your Body Mass Index or BMI. The Body Mass Index ranging from 18.5 to 25 is considered normal medically, while men with BMI over 30 are considered overweight or obese.

Bone Density Check-up

Bone density test should also be included in the yearly medical test that every man should have, as aging men are also likely to develop osteoporosis. Increasing age and weakening bones is the prime reason for developing such health condition and with a yearly bone density test can help detect the health condition of your bones. Patients with a vertebral deformity, osteopenia, previous fractures and osteoporosis are recommended to undergo a bone density test on yearly basis. People above 50 years must have frequent bone density test to keep track of their bone health.

Diabetes Test

The test for diabetes include fasting blood sugar test, post lunch test and other specialized tests that calculate your blood glucose level at various times. Depending on your health condition, symptoms and risk level, you are required to perform diabetes test once in every 6-12 months. But ideally, it should be done at least once during yearly health check-up for men to know the risk of diabetes at early stages. If prediabetes stage is detected, appropriate dietary and lifestyle changes can make a difference.

Yearly Eye Check-Up

People with prescription glasses, contact lenses are required to have their eyes screened during yearly health check-up. It is crucial for men to get the eyes checked properly to avoid certain eye disorders. The yearly eye check-up would evaluate your vision and the health of the eyes. The yearly eye check-up can detect eye disorders like cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. This is a very crucial medical test that you must include in your list of yearly check-up for men.

Dental Check-up

Dental check-up which is also known as intra-oral-examination includes test of the teeth, gums and surrounding tissues of oral cavity. It is ideal to undergo a dental check-up once in every 6 months to maintain a healthy mouth and better oral hygiene. If not, at least make sure you include in the list of yearly health check-up for men. The dentists check the early symptoms of dental complications and provide necessary medications for better oral health.
