Some are not even sure whether they have what it takes to change or not. Committing yourself to sobriety and overcoming drug addiction may involve:

    • Dealing with stress.
    • Choosing correctly your company and the people you socialize with.
    • Your daily activities.
    • Your own perception towards yourself.

    • important that you deal with any health and psychological problems first. You can even get a combined treatment for both the addiction and other problems. Remember that you cannot do it alone. The more people you get involved, the better your chances for improvement are. But just remember to involve the right people
    • Involve close friends and family in your challenge of overcoming drug addiction. This is the most crucial part in your recovery process. You might get the best medical support but when you do not have the support from your family then all is in vain. If you live with your family, let them know about your problem and ask them to be supportive.     • Avoid people who drag you behind. Being a drug addict; it is possible that your social network is comprised of people who use drugs too. Be careful now because you have chosen a different path.     • Move into a sober home. Sober living homes are the best for you when you are on a drug addiction recovery process on your own. Perhaps you do not have a stable home or you are not surrounded by a sober environment. These homes are the best for you.
    • Spend time with the people who understand what you are going through. Such people are the best company for you. They understand your situation and are willing to help you. You may be lucky to even find people with the same problem as yours or those who have had the same problem before.
