One half cup of regular yogurt made of whole milk contains approximately 75 calories, 4 grams of protein, 6 grams of fats and carbohydrates just below 6 grams which are mostly in form of milk sugar or lactose. Apart from this, it also contains 148 mg of calcium and 15 mg of magnesium.

However, one half cup of frozen yogurt contains 110 calories, 2.6 grams of proteins, 3 grams of fat, 19 grams of carbohydrates (much of it comes from added sugar), 87 mg of calcium and 9 mg of magnesium.

This nutritional comparison between the regular yogurt and frozen yogurt makes it clear that the frozen yogurt contains more of sugar, more calories and less calcium and magnesium content that the regular yogurt. This means yogurt is healthier than frozen yogurt. However, the tangy flavour of regular yogurt is not liked by many, and that is why they prefer taking frozen yogurt which is a sweet dessert similar to ice-cream with good nutritional values.

Is Frozen Yogurt Healthier Than Ice-Cream

If you want to compare the nutritional facts of frozen yogurt and ice cream, then here is what you find.

As compared to the nutritional facts of one half cup of frozen yogurt( mentioned above), one half cup of a typical brand of ice cream contains 137 calories, 7 grams of fats, 2 grams of proteins, 16 grams of carbohydrates from added sugar, 84 mg of calcium and 9 grams of magnesium.

This clearly suggests that frozen yogurt is healthier than the ice cream when looked at the nutritional values, as there are more fat content in ice cream and also
