How Effective is Bydureon?

Bydureon medicine when combined with healthy diet and exercise effectively controls blood sugar level. Also, it is used to cure type 2 diabetes and not for treating type 1 diabetes.

People who are suffering from any sort of kidney disorder, slow digestion, family history if thyroid or cancer, ketoacidosis or any form of cancer should not take Bydureon without a registered doctor’s suggestion.

One should immediately stop take Bydureon and consult doctor if they experience sudden pain in their stomach, nausea or vomit sensation, fast heart rate or pain in back. All these symptoms indicate that the person is suffering from pancreatitis. The effect of this medicine considerably reduces in type 1 diabetes or patients suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis.

The medication is injected in the body of patient once in every seven days. There is no restriction in the timing i.e., it can be injected in patient’s body anytime before or after meal. The only thing that should be considered is to religiously follow doctor’s instructions.

How to Take Bydureon?

As discussed above the medicine should be taken the way it is instructed by the doctor. Also endure to read and follow the instructions given on prescription label. The medicine should be taken immediately after dilution and should not be stored in diluted form. If taking the medicine at home, then ensure to learn how to appropriately mix the solution with water.

Your doctor will teach to find the appropriate place on your body to inject Bydureon. Make sure to inject the medicine at different places and never inject the medicine at the same place two times consequently.

What is the Recommended Dosage of Bydureon?

The dose in adult should not exceed more than 2mg in seven days and it can be taken at any time of the day before or after meal. Patient suffering from diabetes can subsequently switch to extended-release exenatide from immediate-release exenatide. Some of the patients feel that treatment is possible only with immediate-release exenatide but it is not true. If patient switch from immediate to extended-release exenatide, then there is a high possibility that blood sugar level will fluctuate but will get normalized in the first two weeks itself.

Along with the medicine, make sure to adopt healthy diet and regular exercise to get better results in treating type 2 diabetes.

What are the Side Effects of Bydureon?

Just like any other medicine, Bydureon also have some side effects. Make sure to inform your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to Bydureon
  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Swelling on face, throat or tongue
  • Severe body pain
  • Warmth
  • Itching
  • Blisters
  • Lump formation on the area where injection was given
  • Suffering from pancreatitis i.e., sudden pain in stomach, fats heartbeat, back pain and vomit sensation.
  • Lower blood sugar level i.e. headache, hunger pranks, nausea, irritation, anxiety and so on.
  • Kidney Problems.

Common Side Effects of Bydureon May Include:

Indigestion, vomiting, constipation, headache, diarrhea, itching or small bump formation where injection was given is some of the common side effects of Bydureon. It is advised to confirm with doctor with the medicine is mixed with any other medicine.
