Nasonex nasal spray is a steroid which helps in effective prevention of substances in the body which mainly causes inflammation

Nasonex nasal spray is also used for effective prevention of several allergy symptoms in adults and also among children who are above 12 years old.

Nasonex nasal spray is also used for effective treatment of nasal polyps mainly in adults.

Effective results will be obtained within 2 weeks of using nasonex nasal spray. To get the best results use nasonex nasal spray as mentioned by your doctor. In case your symptoms do not improve over a week’s period you must tell your doctor.

Nasonex nasal spray can cause the lowering of blood cells in your body which fights infections in the body. Also try not to be around people who are sick or have any kind of infections. What is the Recommended Dosage of Nasonex Nasal Spray?

Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis – Regular Adult Dosage

One time in a day – 2 sprays of nasonex nasal spray in each nostrils

When nasonex nasal spray is used to prevent allergic rhinitis, start treatment at least 2 – 4 weeks before pollen season

Treatment of Nasal Polyps – Regular Adult Dosage

Two times a day – 2 sprays of nasonex nasal spray in each nostrils. In few patients even one spray in each nostril might give effective results.

Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis – Regular Pediatric Dosage

2-11 years – one spray of nasonex nasal spray in each nostril one time a day.

Children who are 12 years or above – 2 sprays nasonex nasal spray in each nostril one time a day.

When nasonex nasal spray is used to prevent allergic rhinitis, start treatment at least 2 – 4 weeks before pollen season

What are the Side Effects of Nasonex Nasal Spray?

If you experience any allergic reactions to this medicine such as hives, swelling of lips, face, throat or tongue or have any difficulty in breathing call your doctor immediately.

Also, call your doctor if you have any of these severe side effects of nasonex nasal spray:

  • Ongoing or severe nosebleed
  • Difficulty in breathing or wheezing
  • Sores or white patches in nose that does not heal
  • Chills, flu symptoms, body aches, fever
  • Vision problems.

There are very less risk of side effects while using this medicine in the nose. You will have side effects mainly when the blood stream absorbs nasonex nasal spray. In case you have long term steroid usage problems inform your doctor.

  • Changes in sexual function
  • Tired feeling, muscle weakness, feeling irritable, anxiety, depression
  • Increased body hair, thinning skin, slow wound healing
  • Weight gain (mainly in upper back, face and torso)
