What is the Recommended Dosage of Havrix?

General Adult Dosage of Havrix for treating Hepatitis A Prophylaxis:

Administer 1 mL IM trailed by a 1 mL supportive dosage 6 to 12 months succeeding primary immunization. The initial immunization has to be carried out at least 2 weeks prior to probable contact with Hepatitis A virus.

Immune globulin may be given together with Havrix vaccine at a separate injection location to people that need post exposure prophylaxis or prophylaxis.

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience the following severe side effects of havrix:

  • Fainting feeling
  • Thrilling drowsiness
  • Having escalated fever within few days or hours after the vaccine.

Common side effects of havrix may include:

  • Feeling sick generally
  • Low fever
  • Lack of appetite
  • Nausea
  • Headache is also a side effect of havrix
  • Tenderness, redness, swelling, warmth or a solid lump where the shot was administered.
