This tends to occur mostly on days when you may have eaten too much junk or acidic food or may have gone out with friends for a drink. This bitter taste in mouth indicates increased amount of bacteria in the mouth and a sign of poor diet but there are many other causes for bitter taste to linger in mouth.

Medications: There are certain classes of medications which tend to leave bitter taste in mouth. These classes of medications are usually cardiac medications and psychiatric medications.   2. Tongue Scraper: Using a tongue scrapper can be of some help to get rid of bitter taste in mouth. You can move the tongue scrapper from the front part of the tongue to the back part and apply gentle pressure while doing so. Repeat this about two or three times for best results.
  3. Mouth Rinse: Using Mouth Rinse can be a useful remedy for bitter taste in mouth. Rinse the mouth with a table spoon of mouthwash for about a minute. Doing this twice a day can help get rid of bitter taste in mouth.
