Is Head Massage Good For Hair Growth?

Many of us suffer from a hair loss issue. If you have been one of them, you must have come across several solutions for preventing hair loss and helping your hair to grow. Well, one of the solutions could be a head massage. It is now a proven fact that massaging the head or the scalp with oils, especially the essential oils is a great way to enable hair growth.

Is Head Massage Good For Hair Growth?

Is Head Massage Good For Hair Growth?

A regular head massage could help with hair growth. A head massage increases the flow of blood to the scalp and good blood flow occasionally is great for your hair growth. It is good to opt for a head massage at a spa, once in a while by trained therapist who are skilled in the techniques that increase the blood flow to your scalp.

These therapists apply pressure at the right points and this, in turn, stimulates the blood vessels present on the scalp and helps in better absorption of oxygen by the blood vessels. Each follicle of the hair requires an equal amount of nutrients so as to go into them for the proper growth of each of the strands. So, with a more right kind of head massage, there is a greater chance of good hair growth.

Moreover, a proper head massage also helps in promoting relaxation and helps in reduction of stress. This reduced levels of stress hormones, allow the body to function with increased efficiency and this ultimately enhances the ability of the hair follicles to grow hair.

You can use the nourishing oils during the head massage, that reduces conditions that can interrupt the process of hair growth, including dandruff and dry scalp skin.

Regular massage of the head for hair growth can also reduce the chances of the hair strands becoming brittle, split and broken and give you the hair you actually desire for.

Can A Head Massage Cause Hair Loss?

If you are worrying if a head massage can cause hair loss, then worry not! The only risk of hair loss related to head massage, comes from hair that was already going to fall out anyway. Our hair has four growth phases, the last phase of the Exogen phase is the one where the hair follicle is essentially pushing the hair out by closing up its supply of blood and pushing it closer to the surface. So, at any given time, a fairly low percentage of hair will be in this last phase. So, do not freak out if few hairs come out during the head massage. The hair in this phase was likely about to fall out anyway.

Conclusion:

If you are willing to have thick, shiny and gorgeous hair, then make head massage an integral part of your hair care ritual. At least 5-10 minutes of head massage with oil can make a huge difference in the look and the feel of your hair. You can also feel really relaxed after the head massage.
