There are few medicines that will interact with this medicine and shouldn’t be taken at the same time. In case you are using any of these medicines then your doctor must change your treatment plan, alprazolam, triazolam, quinidine, disopyramide, dihydroergotamine, midazolam, lovastatin, simvastatin, nisoldipine, methadone, ergotamine, eplerenone, cisapride, ranolazine, dofetilide. Few reactions will result in life threatening irregular heartbeats.

In case you have pounding or fast heartbeats, severe dizziness, headache with chest pain, call your doctor immediately.

Prior to Taking Nizoral

If you have liver disease or allergic to it, do not take Nizoral. There are few medicines that will interact with this medicine and should not be taken at the same time. Few reactions will result in life threatening irregular heartbeats. In case you are using any of these medicines then your doctor must change your treatment plan.

  • Pimozide or cisapride.
  • Triazolam, midazolam or alprazolam.
  • Ergotamine or dihydroergotamine.
  • Methadone.
  • Simvastatin or lovastatin.
  • Ranolazine, quinidine, nisoldipine, eplerenone. Dronedarone, dofetilide or disopyramide.

You must tell your doctor if you have any of these conditions to make Nizoral medicine safe for you:

  • If you are using heart rhythm medication, certain antibiotics, anti-malaria medication, migraine headache medicine, depression medicine, mental illness medicines.
  • Any family or personal history of long QT syndrome.
  • Any liver problem history.
  • Any adrenal gland problems.

If you are planning to become pregnant or pregnant at the time of treatment, inform your doctor as it is unknown if Nizoral medicine will harm the unborn child

You should not breast feed your child while taking Nizoral medicine as it will pass through breast milk to the nursing child and harm the child.

How to Take Nizoral?

Nizoral medicine is to be taken only as per the prescribed dosages. Do not take Nizoral medicine in any smaller or larger amount or whenever it is not needed. It is important to follow all the direction and guidelines in the prescription label.

If you have any of these severe side effects of Nizoral, call your doctor immediately:

  • Liver problems – dark urine, upper stomach pain, jaundice (yellowing of eyes or skin), loss of appetite, tired feeling, itching, clay colored stools.
  • Vomiting and nausea, unusual tired feeling or weakness.
  • Fainting, severe dizziness, pounding or fast heartbeats, headache with chest pain.
