Generally, when a person takes Flexeril, for the first 2 weeks it is very effective in relieving the pain. Peak therapeutic effect occurs within a few days. After a few weeks, the effect of Flexeril subsides altogether. In most of the cases, it is not prescribed for more than 10 days unless directed by your doctor. Flexeril is not advised for patients who are 65 years or older. According to the guidelines, when Flexeril gets going in the system it will take 20 minutes to mix with the blood and reduces the pain in about 30-40 minutes and you can take it every 6 hours if needed. If you miss your dosage or don’t take the drug on schedules, it may not work the next time or stop working completely. However, remember never to try to catch 2 dosages at once. In case, if you take too much dosage, it may harm your liver, kidney, and nervous system.

Drink little amounts of caffeinated refreshments, such as espresso, tea or colas.

Regular physical activity is very essential. Go outside for a fast walk or do some other kind of physical movement that you get a kick out.

Take a few deep breaths as soon as you start feeling tried, drowsy or exhausted.

Consult with your doctor, if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Excessive drowsiness and you are unable to stay awake or feeling lightheadedness while sleeping.
  • Sleeping more than 10 hours daily.

  • Fatigue that gets worse.

Recommended Dosage of Flexeril

Flexeril dosage includes 5, 7.5 and 10 mg tablets. At the beginning the minimum dosage that is suggested for most patients is 5 mg, taken three times each day. The maximum prescribed dosage is 10 mg, taken three times each day. Flexeril 10 mg must not be taken for any longer than ten days.
