Is Neck Pain A Progressive Problem?

Neck pain is usually a sign or a symptom of another underlying problem or condition. So, it can be said that whether the neck pain will be progressive or not depends upon the nature of the underlying condition. If the underlying medical condition can be treated or reversed, it is possible to treat the neck pain as well. If the underlying condition does not progress, neck pain will not progress either.

If there is no underlying condition and neck pain is all by itself, then it will depend on what corrective measures are used to treat the neck pain. If the pain is due to a wrong posture or another such thing that can be corrected, there are chances that neck pain will regress and not progress to worsen much.

Conclusion

Neck pain is often a sign or a symptom of some other underlying condition. Even if it is all by itself, treating the cause of the neck pain can treat it. There are certain alternative treatments that can be tried with the guidance of your doctor. These may have some benefits as well as risks and hence, are to be performed after proper consultation with your doctor and under the expert guidance of trained professionals. Neck pain may or may not be a progressive disease and it usually depends upon the cause of neck pain.
