In fact, a study was done in 2013 on magnetized structured water. It was seen that magnetized water decreased blood glucose levels and reduced damage to the blood and liver in the DNA of rats and also induced diabetes after 8 weeks.(1) But, this study has not been replicated on humans.

One more study was conducted by undergraduate students to look at the water before and after it was magnetized, if there was any change. It was found that the water did not show any variation in the hardness, pH, and conductivity.(2)

Companies sell structured water with numerous claims about how it will benefit the body. The following are the benefits proposed by them for using structured water:

  • Structured water boosts energy and encourages the functioning of the immune system and its longevity.
  • It makes the immune system healthy which is important to keep away the disease-causing agents.
  • It provides optimal hydration to the body and is proposed to be better in providing hydration
  • It makes water tastier than those purified with a water softener and purifiers.
  • It is a healing tool as it returns the natural balance of the body by promoting good digestion, weight loss, maintaining weight, and aiding better sleep
  • Beneficial in keeping the skin hydrated, reducing hair fall
  • Improves memory and concentration.

Companies selling structured water give out some extreme claims. However, there is no evidence proving that structured water would be more beneficial than ordinary water. Water in any form regular tap water or filtered tap water all offer good benefits.
