As the patient becomes older the risk of suffering from high blood pressure increases subsequently.

If the condition of high blood pressure is not controlled then it can lead to heart failure/attack or even stroke. This is not the end; in fact high blood pressure can also cause kidney failure. In medical term the problem of high blood pressure is also referred to as hypertension.

One should first take consent from their doctor before stopping or making any alteration in the medication dosage. If the medicine is stop suddenly then it can lead to huge spike in blood pressure.

Anxiety: Usually the medications that are prescribed for controlling high blood pressure causes anxiety. The reason behind this is the composition of the medication and also the stress that a person takes after knowing that one is suffering from high blood pressure.

Not Recommended for Pregnant Women: It is advised that women who are pregnant or are planning a baby soon, then they should discuss about the same with their doctor. This is so because the ACE inhibitors present in the medications that are prescribed for controlling blood pressure can cause adverse effect on both the mother and the unborn child.

Diabetic Patients: Patients who take insulin for keeping their diabetes in control should inform about the same to their doctor. This is so because beta-blockers given for controlling high blood pressure can drastically alter the sugar level in patients.

Patient with Erectile Dysfunction: Individuals who suffer from erectile dysfunction during sex should inform about the same to their doctor without any fail. The chief reason behind this is that the medications given to patients for controlling the fluctuations in blood pressure can cause this problem. If the problem becomes severe then making some minor alteration in the pills dosage can solve the problem. However, this should be done only after taking doctors approval.

Before starting with the medications, it is always suggested that patients should learn about the severity of their problem and also ask the doctor the about the possible side effects of the prescribed medication. One can also take help from various online sources to know about the possible side effects of the medications that are taking. A detail discussion with the doctor is always recommended. This will prevent any unfortunate situation in the coming future.
