  • Before taking istalol or timolol ophthalmic, tilt head backward and pull down the lower part of the eyelid. Now, hold the dropper just above the eye and slowly tip down. When you squeeze the dropper look up and away from the dropper and then immediately close eyes
  • It is important you slightly press the insider corner of the eye for over a minute to make sure the medicine lasts inside eyes without draining out. In case you have to use more than one drop then wait for 5 minutes before you put the second drop in your eye.

What are the Side Effects of Istalol?

In case you have any of these allergic reactions or conditions, stop using the medicine and call your doctor:

  • Oozing or crusting of eyelids or eyes, drainage
  • Rapid weight gain, swelling
  • Short of breath with less dosage of medicine
  • Discomfort, eye redness and sensitivity to light
  • Redness or swelling to your eyelids
  • Hallucinations, depressed mood, unusual behavior or thoughts
  • Uneven or slow heart rate, chest pain
  • Gasping, wheezing or any other breathing problems.
