  1. Baking Soda Mixed in Water

One of the biggest benefits of using baking soda to fight inflammation is that it naturally works to inform the body for calming the autoimmune response, thus reducing inflammation in the body. Baking soda is also easily accessible. A research study published in the Journal of Immunology recently found that by drinking a mixture of baking soda and water helps reduce inflammation in the body. You can combine 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in approximately a big glass of water. However, this tonic is not without side effects. There could be harmful side effects to having a tonic of baking soda over a period of time. These may include bone loss and/or liver damage. This is why it is only recommended that you take this tonic for no more than two weeks to maximum a month. Do not continue taking baking soda and water for over a month. This remedy is best for getting short-term relief from inflammation.

  2. Homemade Ginger and Parsley Juice Tonic to Battle Inflammation

Ginger is well known for fighting inflammation. Ginger contains the compound gingerol, which is known to be a powerful anti-inflammatory substance. Ginger is also known to help reduce muscle pain and soreness while promoting healthy digestion as well. Ginger works by stopping the production of molecules that cause inflammation in the body, such as leukotriene and prostaglandin. Ginger also prevents the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which are a type of protein found in cells that promote inflammation.

On the other hand, parsley has recently come to the forefront of naturopathy remedies. Several studies have shown that the active ingredient present in parsley, carnosol, helps target inflammation, such as the one caused when you have rheumatoid arthritis. To make this homemade tonic you need to add the following ingredients to a juicer:

    • 2 cups of spinach
    • 1 handful of parsley or as per your taste
    • 1 green apple
    • 1 small cucumber
    • 1 lemon for taste
    • 2-3 sticks of celery

  3. Bone Broth from Chickens

The bone broth derived from chickens is known to be great for supporting joint health and fighting inflammation. The chicken bone broth is an excellent source of anti-inflammatory amino acids, such as arginine, glycine, and proline. The chicken bone broth works by promoting the levels of chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine found in the cartilage of our body. The chicken bone broth not only fights inflammation, but it also contains high levels of collagen, which is known to support joint health. Chicken bone broth is also beneficial for getting a better night’s sleep, improving your memory, and boosting mental function. You have to be mindful though, that you can only use bone broth derived from chickens and not beef, pork, or fish, as these will not give the desired anti-inflammatory results.

To make the chicken bone broth, you will need to combine the following ingredients in a 10-quart slow cooker:

    • 2 lbs. of free-range chicken bones
    • 2 chicken feet
    • 2 stalks of celery
    • 1 onion
    • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
    • 2 carrots
    • 1 tablespoon of peppercorns
    • 1 tablespoon or sea salt
    • a handful of parsley
    • Any other herbs that you would like to include

You have to let the broth simmer for at least 24 to 48 hours. Keep skimming the fat from time to time. Once it is done, you need to discard the solids left in the cooker and strain the broth through a colander. To get the maximum benefit of this chicken bone broth, drink at least two cups of it daily to battle inflammation. You can also have it as soup. The chicken bone broth can be kept frozen for up to three months also.
