Here are some of the ways of healing toenail fungus with natural remedies.

Baking Soda

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda bears amazing antifungal effects. It helps fight against the fungal agents causing an infection like onychomycosis. Use this for better healing of toenail fungus with this wonderful natural remedy. Mix water in one teaspoon of baking soda to make a paste. Apply it on the affected nail. Wash off after 30 minutes. Repeat it twice daily

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is one of the best natural remedies for healing toenail fungus. It is very useful essential oil as it bears anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It proves to be very useful for various skin conditions from dandruff to athlete’s foot. Along with getting rid of the infection, it also improves the appearance of the affected nails. Mix three drops of olive oil with coconut oil and apply it with a cotton swab on the nail. Let it dry. Apply it twice daily to get the best results.

Olive Leaf Extract

Olive leaves contain beneficial compounds including oleuropein and phenolic compounds. The extract from olive leaf contains antibacterial and antifungal properties, which is why it proves to be beneficial in curing toenail fungus. It is one of the effective natural remedies for healing toenail fungus. Take a few drops of olive leaf extract and apply it over the affected nail. Leave it until it dries off. Repeat this two times in a day.

Garlic

Garlic, one of the excellent natural remedies, is efficient in healing toenail fungus and athlete’s foot, as it contains a compound known as ajoene, which is an organic trisulfur. Ajoene bears numerous medicinal effects. It functions as an antioxidant and an antimicrobial agent (antibacterial and antifungal). Studies have shown the effect of garlic as a chemotherapeutic agent for treating cancer of stem cells. Take two or three garlic and crush them. Apply the crushed garlic to the affected nail. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash it off with normal temperature water. Repeat it twice daily.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is well-known for its soothing properties on the skin, hair, and nails. The anti-fungal nature of aloe helps it fight against dermatophytes, which are responsible for causing the toenail fungus, thus making it one of the amazing natural remedies for healing toenail fungus. Take fresh aloe vera gel and apply it to the nail affected by the fungus. Leave it for 20-30 minutes till it dries off. Wash it off after that. It can be repeated two times a day.

Vinegar

Vinegar bears antimicrobial properties, which is why the foot bath with vinegar is a tested solution for toenail fungus. It is an excellent natural remedy for healing toenail fungus. Take a small tub, with water in it so that the feet get immersed. Add a half cup of vinegar. Soak feet in it for 20 minutes. You can do it every day till the fungus completely subsides.

Following basic hygiene such as keeping the nails clean and moisturized, changing the socks regularly, disinfecting the nail clippers after every use, and washing the hands after touching the infected nail helps in preventing the infection from occurring.
