Morning sickness is one sign of pregnancy. It is not an illness or disorder. It is represented by an upset of stomach caused due to pregnancy hormones. The pregnancy hormone which is highly responsible for morning sickness is human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). The symptoms of morning sickness are nausea, vomiting, and distress after the smell of food. It is experienced by most of the pregnant ladies usually in the morning. However, it can happen at any time in the day. It is a harmless condition for pregnant women and baby.

Morning sickness is the first sign of pregnancy. It develops when the levels of hCG increase in the body due to pregnancy. It occurs in the first trimester in about 6 weeks of pregnancy. It never starts in the first week of pregnancy.

Morning sickness is a condition that appears in pregnancy. It is one of the early signs of pregnancy. Pregnancy is calculated from the last menstrual period. According to this calculation, ovulation may happen in the third week of menstrual period. The conception can occur after the third week and the fertilized egg may take up to 10 days to implant in the uterus. This happens near the sixth week of pregnancy. Morning sickness is induced by human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) which is secreted the highest during this period.

It starts in the first trimester (first three months) and ends at the start of the second trimester (second three months). However, it can continue to rest of the trimesters in the pregnancy in a few cases. It does not start in the first week of pregnancy. Almost 90 percent of pregnant ladies develop morning sickness in their pregnancy. In the majority of pregnant women, it starts near the sixth week of pregnancy, roughly three weeks after conception or two weeks after the missed period. It cannot start earlier than six weeks of after menstrual period. It ends in 12-15 weeks of pregnancy.

Morning sickness is not a diseased condition. It does not cause any harm to the baby or pregnant women. It is usually mild or moderate that causes weakness. It does not treatment and gets better the pregnant rests full and takes small meals in small intervals. No medicine is required in such situations.

Morning sickness demands medical attention when it becomes so severe that the mother cannot hold any food in her. It is characterized by excessive vomiting and this condition is known as hyperemesis gravidarum. This condition leads to excessive dehydration and loss of nutrients with electrolytic imbalances. This is harmful to the baby.

Morning sickness is represented by a nauseating feeling that appears usually in the morning. But, it can happen anytime in the day and even at night. It occurs in nearly 50% of pregnant women. It is often associated with vomiting. Vomiting can be triggered by the smell of any particular food.

Many gynecologists consider morning sickness as a good sign of pregnancy because it symbolizes the good development of the placenta. Morning sickness can be controlled by having small meals every 2-3 hours. It is recommended to drink fluids half-an-hour before or after a meal and avoid taking them with a meal. The ladies who have morning sickness should drink small amounts of fluids throughout the day to prevent dehydration. She should also take proper rest and nap during the day. It is also recommended to avoid warm places to avoid nausea. Lemon or ginger or watermelon can relieve the nauseating feeling. Salty potato chips can also calm down the upset stomach.

Exercising regularly also relieves the sick feeling caused by morning sickness.

But if morning sickness is accompanied by pain and fever, then there can be any infection present along with morning sickness that needs to be treated.
