Diabetic neuropathy is a nerve disorder that appears when diabetes mellitus gets complicated. It develops when nerves are damaged due to prolonged high levels of glucose in the blood. It usually affects the nerves of the lower extremities. But, it may involve nerves of digestion, urinary system, body temperature, and others. Its symptoms involve tingling, numbness, weakness, and loss of sensation in the foot and many others. It cannot be cured completely as the nerve damages are often irreversible. It can be managed well with the control of diabetes and some home remedies discussed below.
